About.

We are technology leaders, product visionaries, and highly skilled engineers with practical experience solving complex problems.

As hands-on C-Level executives, we have worked with many consulting firms. Regardless of the size of a firm we would engage with, most of them had a "one size fits all" approach. They also shy away from taking on complicated and risky challenges. When they do, the results are not great because most practitioners and consultants never had a real, large-scale practical experience solving complex and nuanced problems that companies of all sizes often face. The professionals with battle scars from successful product launches or company rescues are very hard to find.

We have assembled TechCraft boutique consultancy group to address this gap. We have done what we claim we can do. In our roles, we have advised and guided business leaders to achieve greater success through the effective and creative use of technology. We helped solve critical organizational and productivity issues. We have launched complicated and innovative global products. We have extensive, hands-on, and practical experience with M&A. We were leading members of teams in charge of many acquisitions. We have prepared companies to be acquired and guided them through massive deals. We have conducted countless due diligence analyses and sat in the hot seats of CTOs and CPOs, answering questions from the acquiring party.

We love complex challenges, and we love to help people and companies. Nothing better for us than to see a CEO, CTO, or CPO go into a board meeting with confidence. We thrive on knowing that our help made a dream product real. We are thrilled when our contribution turns around a struggling project. We are humbled when we see that our ideas and actions strengthen product development organizations.

Boris Bronshteyn - Founder.

Born and raised in the former USSR, I started my tech journey as a kid visiting the local government statistics department, where my dad led a group of software engineers. It was magical to see all the lights, hear the noises of magnetic tapes and see how engineers and statisticians could interact with the computers. Soon after, I convinced my dad to spend his savings on buying me a Sinclair ZX, a "cutting edge" PC at the time for kids in the former USSR. My friends and I would spend hours playing games. Unfortunately, cassette tapes used to store data would break often, and there were no stores to buy new ones. "Necessity is the mother of all invention," so I learned to code to create my own games. I was fascinated that I could control the computer with a few typed keywords. I was hooked!

My love for tech and my desire to build software products started then and never subsided. I pursued a career in software development when we immigrated to the United States in the 90s. Over the last 23 years, I got a chance to work for Fortune 500 companies, mid-size businesses, and early-stage startups (LinkedIn). I started as a software engineer and quickly climbed up the corporate ladder. I attribute my success to my innate ability to effectively solve complex problems and create environments where smart and ambitious techies thrive.

Although I appreciate the opportunities available within large enterprises, I gravitated toward growth-focused small and medium businesses. These types of companies struggle with technology the most. It is difficult for them to attract the best talent, effectively manage their priorities (always more to be done than available resources), make bold tech decisions, and more. As an individual contributor, technology leader, and C-Level executive at growth companies, I got a chance to build cutting-edge adtech solutions, clever lead generation search engines, powerful back office platforms, unique marketplaces, and, of course, great tech teams. I am grateful for all the opportunities. The reward of making deep connections with my teammates and seeing my products have a long-lasting positive business impact is tremendous.

In 2019, I was introduced to the CEO of Talent Systems and got an opportunity to join the team. Acquired in 2017, Talent Systems was in the process of reinventing itself with two very capable Co-CEOs and a supportive financial backer. The subsequent years took me on a wild ride of the complete transformation of the company and its tech capabilities. We have rebuilt the engineering team, completely replaced the platform that supported the marketplace used by millions, acquired and integrated four companies, and finally sold the company to a top-grade private equity fund, earning a 10x return for the original investors. The transaction was one of the largest private equity deals in Southern California. I have learned so much. I felt I should share all the practical knowledge I gained with other companies on their journey to greatness. Hence, I have started TechChraft Group with the ambitious goal of empowering business leaders to make bold decisions and go after their dreams. Our expertise and practical knowledge significantly reduce the risks and uncertainties of undertaking challenging product development, optimizing and restructuring engineering teams and organizations, and managing complex M&A technology transactions. Whether you are a brand-new startup or an established industry leader, give us a shout, and we will gladly connect and explore your challenge.
